Hi, I'm Lourensia

I've been behind a camera for more than 20 years, but somewhere along the way, paint started calling my name too.

I love making things. Taking photographs, painting, trying out a new idea that seemed brilliant in my head (and occasionally wondering what on earth I was thinking halfway through).

My art is very much about enjoying the process. I'm drawn to flowers, colour, beautiful little details and the things that make a home feel like your home.

I'm not interested in making everything perfect. I like a bit of character, a brushstroke that shows, and art that feels like it was made by an actual person — because it was.

These days, I'm creating paintings from my home studio in Pretoria, one at a time, and sharing the journey along the way.
