Hi, I’m Lourensia
I came to painting later in life.
I picked up a paintbrush for the first time in my forties, not knowing that something I started simply because I loved it would become such an important part of my life.
Then I sold my first painting.
There was something incredibly special about knowing that something I had created with my own hands had connected with someone enough for them to want to take it home. It made me wonder what might happen if I stopped treating painting as just something I enjoyed… and gave it a real chance.
So that’s what I decided to do.
I’m still exploring. Still experimenting. Still discovering the colours, subjects and styles that feel like me. And I think that sense of discovery is part of what I love most about painting.
My faith is also an important part of this journey. I believe creativity is a gift from God, and I want to use what He has given me rather than leave it unexplored. My hope is to create work that brings a little beauty, joy and feeling into someone else’s life and home.
I don’t know exactly where this journey will lead.
But I’m very glad you’re here to be part of it.
